On Sunday, February 14th, NASCAR fans will be celebrating their love for racing as the 2021 Cup Series season gets underway with the Daytona 500 also known as “The Super Bowl of stock car racing.”

NASCAR Daytona 500 Best Bets and Odds 2021. Your guide to Daytona 500 Betting. Betting on the Daytona 500 online is even better than using a Daytona 500 betting board. If you know how to do it right, you can really make the best Daytona 500 bets by going online. This NASCAR Daytona 500 betting guide will teach you to do just that.

In addition to the standard wagers for the Daytona 500, there are numerous prop bets to consider. The following is a list of our favorite prop bets for the 63rd running of the Daytona 500 courtesy of NASCAR betting sites like Bovada and DraftKings.

Daytona Driver Matchups

In order to win these prop bets, you must pick which driver that you think will finish higher:

Ryan Blaney vs Brad Keselowski

Our first driver matchup takes a look at Team Penske teammates who both have had success at speedways in their careers.

For this matchup, I like Ryan Blaney to come home with the higher finish. Although he hasn’t won at Daytona International Speedway, Blaney’s Top 5s (2) and Top 10s (4) are almost as many as Keselowski’s Top 5s (3) and five Top 10s (5) in 12 less starts.

Getting down to it. #DAYTONA500@MenardsRacing@DrinkBODYARMORpic.twitter.com/naVShiVDhx

— Ryan Blaney (@Blaney) February 11, 2021

Blaney has a 20.2 average finish and Keselowski has a 23.2 average finish. Last year, Keselowki finished 36th in this race and 10th in the second DIS race. Blaney was 2nd and 6th.

Keselowski has 10 DNFs as he’s crashed out of six of the last eight DIS races including three of the last four Daytona 500s. Blaney has five DNFS and has crashed in three of the last six DIS races.

Austin Dillon vs Matt DiBenedetto

I am pleasantly surprised at how close these odds are considering how each driver has performed at Daytona over their respective careers.

Matt DiBenedetto is one of the drivers that I root for. He’s from a town that’s about 45 minutes from my home town and I enjoy seeing his evolution as a driver. But, he’s not as good at DIS as Dillon is. This driver matchup will go to Austin Dillon.

Prop Bets For Daytona 500 Betting

DiBenedetto has three Top 10s in 11 starts and a 20.2 average finish. His best Daytona 500 result was in 2017 when he finished 9th. Following that race, he was 27th in 2018, 28th in 2019 and 19th in 2020.

Austin Dillon won the 2018 Daytona 500 and has two Top 5s, seven Top 10s, and a 15.5 average finish which is second best among all active drivers. He was 12th in this race last year, 16th in 2019, 1st in 2018, 19th in 2017, 9th in 2016, 14th in 2015, 19th in 2014, and 31st in 2013.

Dillon is a threat to finish in the Top 5 this weekend whereas DiBenedetto has never cracked the Top 5.

Best Group Finish

  • Denny Hamlin (+215)
  • Chase Elliott (+255)
  • Ryan Blaney (+270)
  • Joey Logano (+270)

This group consists of four of the top five odds on favorites to win the Daytona 500. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean that they all will contend for the checkered flag.

Chase Elliott and Ryan Blaney have never won at Daytona. Logano has a Daytona 500 victory, but Denny Hamlin has three Daytona 500 wins including two in row.

Let’s approach this group prop bet with an elimination process and then see which driver is left standing once the dust settles.

In 10 starts, Elliott has just one Top 5 and one Top 10. That’s the lowest numbers of anyone in this group. Furthermore, of the race favorites, he has the worst average finish at 24.3. In fact, that’s the 9th worse average finish among all active drivers.

Blaney is trending upwards at Daytona, but he has yet to win. Although he raced well last year at DIS, and I believe he will finish better than his teammate Brad Keselowski, he won’t have the best result in this group.

Joey Logano has won the Daytona 500 in the past, but he’s struggled the last few years having finished outside of the Top 25 in three straight DIS races including two DNFs.

Ultimately, you have to go with Denny Hamlin for this prop bet. He’s won the last two Daytona 500s and three of the last five. He also has two other Top 3s over that span.

Hamlin has almost as many Top 5s as the other three drivers combined.

Daytona 500 Car Prop Bets

Car Number of Race Winner

  • Even (-135)
  • Odd (+100)

My Top 5 drivers for this race are Austin Dillon (3), Kevin Harvick (4), Ryan Blaney (12), and Kyle Busch (18). That’s three of my Top 5 drivers with an even number car.

I believe the winner will come from Harvick or Busch, so go with the “even” option for this wager.

Car Number of Race Winner

  • Over 12.5 (-115)
  • Under 12.5 (-120)

As you can see from the prop bet above, four of my predicted Top 5 drivers all have cars with numbers Under 12.5. But, that’s not all. Other drivers like Kurt Busch (1), Chase Elliott (9), Aric Almirola (10) also have cars Under 12.5.

Although I think Kyle Busch will win, this prop bet really gives us great options with potential race winners driving cars Under 12.5. I’m going with the Under to hedge my bet.

Manufacturer of Race Winner

  • Ford (+160)
  • Chevrolet (+160)
  • Toyota (+225)

Chevy has the most Daytona 500 wins with 24. Ford is second with 15 and Toyota has three.

All three of Toyota’s wins were by Denny Hamlin.

Although Kyle Busch is driving a Toyota, I actually think this is another opportunity to play the field by taking more potential winners instead of Toyota.

Ford’s top drivers this weekend are Harvick, Blaney, Keselowski, and Logano. Chevy’s top drivers are Elliott, Larson, Kurt Busch and Dillon. Additionally, two Chevys will start on the front row.

It’s a coin flip between Ford and Chevy, but I am going to lean towards Chevy in this one.

Team of Race Winner

  • Joe Gibbs Racing (+375)
  • Team Penske (+375)
  • Hendrick Motor Sports (+375)
  • Any Other Team (+400)
  • Stewart-Haas Racing (+650)
  • Chip Ganassi Racing (+1400)
  • Richard Childress racing (+1600)
  • Roush Fenway Racing (+2000)
  • JTG Daughtery Racing (+2000)
  • Rick Ware Racing (+3500)

So, we went with Chevy in the last prop bet with many of those drivers being on Hendrick Motorsports. They have one of the best teams in the sport along with Joe Gibbs Racing and Team Penske.

Style check 😎@mmschocolate@FedEx@DEWALTtough#TeamToyotapic.twitter.com/wFWc6OQxdD

— Joe Gibbs Racing (@JoeGibbsRacing) February 10, 2021

With that said, I am going with Joe Gibbs Racing for this wager. There is the option of hedging our bets and taking another team like Penske or Hendrick, but the JGR wager also gives us Denny Hamlin who is the best Daytona driver in the field.

I am taking Busch to win the race, which is a bit of a stretch, but Hamlin could certainly win another one. And, there’s always a small chance that Martin Truex Jr. could pull off his first ever Daytona win.

Other Daytona 500 Prop Bets

Will Any Driver Win Both Stages and the Race?

  • Yes (+650)
  • No (-1430)

This prop bet from Daytona 500 betting sites seems pretty far-fetched when it comes to actually happening. To win both stages and the race, the driver would most likely need to have the best car in the field.

Prop bets for daytona 500 picks

Looking over past Daytona 500 results, the most laps a driver has ever led at this track and go on to win the race is 60 and that was Cale Yarborough in 1968.

Another possibility could be that the pole sitter stays up near the front all race, happens to win each stage, and then take the checkered flag.

The last time a driver has won from the pole was Dale Jarrett in 2000. Since 1970, only seven pole sitters have ever won the Daytona 500. Over that same span, eight drivers from the second position have won the Daytona 500. That’s 15 drivers from the front row to win the Daytona 500.

This year, Alex Bowman will start on the pole and his teammate William Byron will start alongside him on the front row. Combined, the two have one win, two Top 5s, and four Top 10s in 15 starts at Daytona International Speedway.

Although the odds have no value whatsoever, I just don’t see a scenario where a driver sweeps both stages and takes the checkered flag. It’s too difficult in today’s era of racing.
